മസ്കറ്റ്: ഒമാനിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസമുണ്ടായ ശക്തമായ മിന്നൽ പ്രളയത്തിൽ രണ്ട് മലയാളികൾ മരിച്ചു. കനത്ത മഴയെത്തുടർന്ന് വാദികൾ (പുഴകൾ) നിറഞ്ഞൊഴുകിയപ്പോഴുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തിലാണ് ഇവർക്ക് ജീവൻ നഷ്ടമായതെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക വിവരം. മരിച്ചവരുടെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളെയും സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെയും വിവരം അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ചു ദിവസങ്ങളായി ഒമാന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ തുടരുന്ന ശക്തമായ മഴ ജനജീവിതത്തെ സാരമായി ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. താഴ്ന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലാവുകയും ഗതാഗതം തടസ്സപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. വാദികൾ മുറിച്ചുകടക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കരുതെന്നും സുരക്ഷാ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ കർശനമായി പാലിക്കണമെന്നും ഒമാൻ റോയൽ പോലീസ് പ്രവാസികൾ അടക്കമുള്ളവർക്ക് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകിയിരുന്നു.
മരിച്ചവരുടെ മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കാനുള്ള നടപടികൾ സാമൂഹിക പ്രവർത്തകരുടെയും എംബസി അധികൃതരുടെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നു. അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായുണ്ടായ ഈ അപകടം ഒമാനിലെ മലയാളി സമൂഹത്തെ വലിയ സങ്കടത്തിലാഴ്ത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
